If two teammates are near the same opponent, they can perform a tag team move more powerful than the basic ones which may make it easier to kill an enemy. Customer Reviews: If you love Bleach, then this game is for you!September 25, 2009 Mochi(New York, NY) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This game has fast become one of my favorite Strategy RPGs of all time! Besides capturing the true essence of Bleach, it allows for multiple playthrough without getting too stale. The story is exactly from the world of Bleach. I only wish the existing Bleach Characters talked in Japanese when they perform their Shikai and Bankai moves! AMAZING!
Good game for fans of BleachFebruary 3, 2010 I. Gerasimenko While I found this game enjoyable, as it lasts for a while, and definitely a must have game for any Bleach fan, it is the pace of this game that leaves more to be desired. The in-battle pace is very, very slow, which can be a bit frustrating, and there is no way to change it.
A Bit of a Disappointment Compared to Previous InstallmentsJanuary 3, 2010 M. Resene 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I'm a big fan of the Bleach series over all, and I own the previous two games for DS released in the United States - The Blade of Fate and Dark Souls. Compared to those, Third Phantom is a bit of a disappointment.
First, your choices in the game are very limited - you chose whether to play as one of two twin soul reapers, neither of whom is featured in the show. Second, be prepared to deal with a loooong back story. This game is very story intensive. And, you have to continually hit the A button to move the dialog along.
However, the biggest disappointment to me by far is the battle mode. This is set up more like an old game boy advance game than either of the previous two. You select to move your character and then chose to battle or guard. You can not chose which moves you will use or control your character during battle. You do not use your stylus or your shoulder buttons at all, so essentially it fails to make use of the elements that make the Nintendo DS unique.
If you're a huge fan of the show like I am, then it's worth at least renting, because you get to see all of your favorite characters in a story arc that deals with the past and the present. However, if you're looking for a great battle game, I'd save your money and buy Blade of Fate or Dark Souls instead.
Nothing special PASSNovember 5, 2009 Brian E. Johnson(Detroit, MI United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The story bogs down the already slow gameplay. The trainng phase is wayyy to long.
If you've played tactics ogre or anything similar you can pick it up immediately, but without the fun. Not only is it tiresome and tedious, you will fail your mission if one character dies. I'm not a fan of fighters, but after playing this game I might give them a try. Definitely for Bleach fans only.
